Youth Confirmation

The sacrament registration form is available here.

Students in grades 9 thru 11 who have been baptised Catholic are eligible to begin the Remote year (first year) of Confirmation preparation.

Students who are in the tenth grade or above, who have been baptized Catholic and who have adequate participation in religious education during the previous year are eligible to enter the Immediate year (second year) of preparation and to receive Confirmation upon completion of preparation.

Confirmation preparation is done within the context of the Sunday Youth Group. Ideally, all Confirmation candidates should be enrolled in the Sunday Youth Group. Wednesday Youth Group is an option if necessary but some Sundays will still be required. If you have questions, please contact the Catholic Youth Ministry Coordinator.

Parents and sponsors participate along with the candidate in the preparation process. Parents are the first catschists of their children and sponsors serve a special role as mentor and spiritual partner. Parents and sponsors are welcome and invited to participate in all Conformation formation sessions and are provided with theological information and catechetical directives to assist in preparing your candidates within your family.

Sponsor information is available here.

It is expected that every family involved in preparation for any of the Sacraments are actively participating in Sunday Liturgy. Individual readiness for the reception of sacraments will be determined by the pastor, the youth, the parents, and the CYM Coordinator.

Confirmation will celebrated during a separate Confirmation liturgy during Easter.

Students in sixth thru twelfth grade, and with at least one year participation, may also prepare for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist if needed.

The celebration of First Penance and Eucharist will be scheduled during the Easter Season.
